Larry Phillips to head Metro committee

The Metropolitan King County Council named Councilmember Larry Phillips as the Chair of the Council's Environment and Transportation Committee.

Two issues in front of the committee this year will be formation of a Regional Transit Task Force to develop a vision for sustaining and growing Metro bus service, and adopting a Shorelines Master Plan to protect important shoreline habitat.

The Environment and Transportation Committee will be responsible for:

Growth management, including land use development and regulation, comprehensive planning, annexations and affordable housing.

The environment, including salmon recovery, resource lands, surface water management and water supply.

Transportation, including roads and public transportation.

Phillips represents Ballard, Queen Anne, Magnolia and Capitol Hill on the King County Council.[[In-content Ad]]
