Classic returns to Seattle

Seattle Children's Theatre hosts Goodnight Moon once again. CINEMA

The 35th Annual Seattle International Film Festival begins Thursday with more than 200 movies playing at locations in Seattle and on the Eastside. On Wednesday, May 27, the festival will present the Golden Space Needle Award for Outstanding Achievement in Directing to Spike Lee in recognition of his extraordinary filmmaking career. This special tribute ceremony will include a montage of clips highlighting his diverse work as a director and pioneer of contemporary cinema. Prior to the screening of Passing Strange, Lee will take the stage for an in-depth interview and Q&A session with the audience. Glimpse of China: Chinese Culture and Arts Festival 11 a.m. - 6 p.m., May 30, at Center House
