Burt Robbins

...an Impossible Dreamer who dearly loved his family, and gave more than half a century to the law

Burt Robbins, longtime Magnolia resident, died Oct. 1.

He was 85.

Mr. Robbins was born March 27, 1922, in Seattle. A proud alumnus of Garfield High School, he went on to graduate from the University of Washington with degrees in literature and law.

He served as King County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney and later partnered with his father, Morris Robbins, continuing in the practice of law for more than 50 years.

He loved friends, fishing, music, literature and travel. Mr. Robbins was a founding member of the Impossible Dreamers, a Mariners support group. He coached his sons' Little League teams and played Santa Claus for many children. And he loved the horse races.

Most of all, he loved his family: He adored his "little Nipper," Norita Robbins, his wife of 56 years. He treasured his children: Darryl and his wife Jani Semke; Dawn and her husband Steve Law; and Keith and his partner Peggy Beulig. He never tired of stories about his grandchildren, Zack, Eli, Rachel, Gabe and Mona, or his great- granddaughter, Mika, a.k.a. "Mitzvah." Mr. Robbins was predeceased by his beloved brother Oge. He had a great affection for his sister-in-law, Mitzi Robbins and his many nieces and nephews.

Affectionately called "SOB - sweet old Burt," Mr. Robbins had an easy way and a dry wit. He loved life to the last inning. And he loved the horse races. He will be missed.

His family and friends will celebrate Mr. Robbins' life Thursday, Oct. 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Women's University Club, 1105 Sixth Ave. Parking will be available.

Please send remembrances to the Kline Galland Home, 7500 Seward Park S., Seattle, WA 98118 or the Swedish Home Care Services, 5701 Sixth Ave. S., Suite 404, Seattle, WA 98108.
