Summer camps begin June 22!

Join the Sweet Pea Nation Summer Experience this year for an adventurous and educational vacation. For $185 per week, your child can learn to paint, juggle, sculpt, perform and explore different cultures. Each session is at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, June 22-Aug. 28. Nine week-long camps are available to children entering first through fifth grades, and two week-long camps are available to children entering kindergarten. Registration deadline is May 29, 2009. Secondary Bilingual Orientation Center

in the Old John Hay is having a thank you and Goodbye party as the school leaves the old John Hay on Queen Anne and moves to Meany on Capitol Hill. Pizza and ice cream (for sale), student art, Henna painting, ethnic dances. A silent auction will be held as a fund-raiser to help students who will continue to learn English in their new location. The event is 1-4 p.m., Saturday, May 30 at 411 Boston St. (Old John Hay bldg).

Sustainable Magnolia welcomes

newcomers to its next meeting, 7-9 p.m., May 18, at the Magnolia Community Center. This will be a work meeting for the Action Teams focused on transportation, energy/efficiency, waste reduction/recycling, urban design, and local food/farmers markets. Come join the Native Elders lunch program

The United Indians of All Tribes Foundation invites Elders to join their lunch program. Come share a meal and connect with other Elders in the Native community. Free lunch is offered five days a week at the Labateyah Youth Home in the Crown Hill neighborhood. New members will receive a $5 gift certificate. Arts and crafts activities and bingo happen every week.  Bingo is on Wednesdays after lunch.
