Seattle Department of Neighborhoods

invites the Queen Anne community to a meeting on the revitalization of Kinnear Park. Meeting attendees will get park updates from representatives of Seattle Parks and Recreation Department and Seattle Police Department, hear about the efforts and progress of the new Friends of Lower Kinnear Park (FOLKpark) steering committee and learn ways to get involved. The meeting is at 7 p.m., Thursday, July 23 at the QA/Mag Neighborhood Service Center at 160 Roy St. Ste. 100. Did you graduate QAHS in 1964?

Come to the 45th class reunion that will coincide with the QAHS Annual Alumni Picnic 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 23 on the picnick grounds of the new John Hay School across the street from QAHS at 201 Garfield St. The alumni association will provide hot dogs, pop and coffee. Attendees are welcome to bring side dishes. The original "Al's Hamburgers" grill from long time QA business on Queen Anne Avenue will be used for hamburgers. Uptown's Neighborhood Night Out in

Counterbalance Park on Tuesday, Aug. 4, will have a FREE clothing exchange. Bring your clean, lightly used clothes and accessories to swap/trade. Leftovers will be donated to local thrift stores. The annual National Neighborhood Night Out brings Seattle residents together in local parks and on closed streets on the second Tuesday of August. Uptown's newest park, Counterbalance Park: An Urban Oasis was designed for gatherings like Night Out. Magnolia's Summerfest is going Green!

Sustainable Magnolia and the Magnolia Chamber of Commerce are working together to bring recycling to Summerfest this year, July 31 and Aug. 1, on the Community Center fields and West Smith Street. Volunteers are needed. The volunteer shifts are only two hours and then you are off to enjoy Summerfest. For more info. e-mail recycle@sustainablemagnolia.org.

Magnolia Farmers Market is open

The market takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., every Saturday through Oct. 10, outdoors next to the Magnolia Community Center on 34th Street West.

Ninth Annual Uptown Stroll

is seeking artists to participate 10 a.m., to 5 p.m., Saturday Aug. 29, for this Art in Action event. Artists are expected to be in the process of producing artwork during the day. There is no charge to participate and artists are encouraged to have their art available for sale. Artists will enter in one of two divisions: Youth (age 6-17) and Adult (18 and upward). The United Indians of All Tribes Foundation invites Elders to join their lunch program. Come share a meal and connect with other Elders in the Native community. Free lunch is offered five days a week at the Labateyah Youth Home in the Crown Hill neighborhood.
