Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's ingenious opera "The Marriage of Figaro" is very funny, an extraordinary feat for a work that premiered more than two centuries ago in 1786. Still, it is Mozart's inimitable music that completes the siren allure of this fast-paced adaptation by librettist Lorenzo da Ponte from a stage comedy by Pierre-Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais. Seattle Opera's current production of "The Marriage of Figaro" is an invigorating romp that gives both comedy and music their rightful due.
