New York Pizza brings TVs into dining room

Breaking with convention, New York Pizza & Bar (500 Mercer St.) has installed big-screen TVs in its general seating area to accommodate families and others who can’t sit in its bar area.

McClure MS to have adult 'mixer'

McClure Middle School will host an adult “mixer” on March 23 at the Queen Anne Community Center, 1901 First Ave. W. From 7 to 10 p.m., guests can bid on items in a silent auction, with all proceeds benefiting McClure programs, including the new science lab.

Every 10 years, the state’s Growth Management Act (GMA) requires the Puget Sound four-county area (King, Pierce, Snohomish and Kitsap) to adjust projections for future growth and set targets that determine where and how growth will occur. The aim is to concentrate the region’s growth within urban areas, prevent sprawl, curb global warming and protect the state’s rural lands and natural environment. 

Auction item at Blaine taken down for being offensive

A “White Trash Tea Party” listed as a ticket item up for auction by the Catharine Blaine K-8 School PTA in Magnolia was taken down because parents claimed it to be offensive.
