Good to the core

Excellent ensemble cast returns in 'Cider House Rules Part Two'

A Thriller inside of a coffin

Rodrigo Corres film

Rodrigo Corres's newest film "Buried" not only shows us what it would look like to be buried alive, but makes us feel it, too. It takes a simple theme of claustrophobia and turns it into a gripping and original thriller. So original that I can't imagine this premise being duplicated. The film was totally unpredictable moving from moments of high hope to utter despair.

Back to school, but this time it's different

September....  Back to School time... An invigorating crispness in the morning air, leaves beginning to turn color and drop, satisfyingly crunchy underfoot.  Newly cut hair and freshly sharpened pencils.  Lunch boxes unsullied by the stink of half-eaten sandwiches.  Children flipping open the covers of brand new crayon boxes andpressing their noses against the cool flat tips, inhaling deply the smell that, even as adults, transports us to Septembers so far in our past they seem another lifetime.

Obama is sinking us further and further in debt

Leaves are falling, back-to-school sales ended with a whimper, some 54,000 more jobs disappeared during the summer, and President Obama's stock is so low his PR operatives had him attend church for a photo-op this past Sunday - a safe Episcopalian service.

Never say never

Wilken's Watch

There are many things about growing old that the greeting card types studiously avoid. The physical falling off is the most obvious problem but for those of us who will never see 60 again there are other difficulties.
