County executive backs plan to use sewer lines for heat and energy

The Freehold Group gains support to use the heat from effluent to help spur greater growth in the Interbay neighborhood

King County Executive Dow Constantine has proposed the development of a pilot project that was spearheaded by Interbay's Freehold Group that would be among the first in the nation to test technology that captures heat from sewer pipelines and redistributes the energy to nearby buildings.
