KCTS collecting sweaters for Mister Rogers' Neighborhood drive

Help neighbors in need stay warm this winter by donating new or gently worn sweaters, coats and cold-weather gear for adults and children to KCTS 9’s annual Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood Sweater Drive, running from Jan. 13 through Feb. 9. All donated items will go to Wellspring Family Services and Northwest Center, serving Seattle and King County

Alexander wins second place for college story

Rachel Alexander, of Queen Anne, recently attended the 91st-annual Associated Collegiate Press Conference in Chicago as the editor-in-chief of Whitman College’s student-run newspaper, The Pioneer. She won second place for the Feature Story of the Year for her article on sexual assault.

New group forms to discuss Magnolia transit service; first meeting on Tuesday

The newly formed Magnolia Transit Riders Group will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 15, to discuss the return of late-evening transit service to Central Magnolia. Metropolitan King County Councilmember Larry Phillips has been invited, and Metro service-planning supervisor David Hull will attend the meeting, which will start at 7 p.m. at the Magnolia United Methodist Church, 2836 34th Ave. W. The meeting is open to the public.
