This is a cautionary tale about district vs. at-large elections for the Seattle City Council. There’s a move afoot to change Seattle’s political map to seven district council members, two at-large floaters. Currently, we have nine at-large council members. 

Waterfront scale model on display at downtown library

The City of Seattle’s Waterfront Seattle scale model will be on display through Jan. 3 at The Seattle Public Library’s Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 3. The model is 14 feet long and features the conceptual design for the future waterfront, along with project information. 

Comfort items needed for foster-kids packs

Interbay resident Rebecca Pelletier is hosting a donation drive for the local nonprofit F-Factor, which helps foster children transition between homes. Pelletier is collecting items for F-Factor’s Factor Paks, which are duffle bags filled with such comfort items as stuffed animals, security blankets and basic toiletries and books.
