When the police are bad, or at least unruly, we haven't hesitated to call your attention to their misdeeds in this space. But I like to think we've passed out a few compliments to the boys and girls in blue when that's what was deserved, too. But today, it's a note on the positive side.

Notes from the Garden

Suddenly, all is in bloom. The deciduous trees have cloaked their structures and effectively hiding last year's old tattered nests. However, we know new ones, supposedly surreptitiously, are being built. Just stand still for 15 minutes these days and you will see many birds flying to and fro with bits of stuff in their beaks. Looks like nest building to me.

Little League update: Met Market wins divisional game

The Met Market bats were hot last week and the home team Checkers were out for redemption as they beat Ken's convincingly 12-2.

Mischief a' brewin'Tuesday afternoon at 3, a white male stole some biscotti and a tea mug from a store in the 2100 block of Queen Anne Ave. N. Two hours later, the same man entered the Starbucks in the same block and stole a bottle of orange juice and a package of chocolates. Employees recognized him as the same man who had stolen a CD the previous week.
