In light of AIG executive receiving bonuses, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geitner said, “[A]s soon as I heard about the full scale of these things, we moved very actively to explore every possible avenue—legal avenue to address this problem, to make sure that, again, the assistance we were providing was not going to unduly benefit these people.” Geitner continued to say that they had no legal ability to block these payments but that now they’re going to go back and try to get back those payments that they weren’t able to block initially.
Some good news, for the time being. It would appear that the objections raised against SDOT's plan to constrict Nickerson Street have not fallen on deaf ears - they've called the whole thing off.

By the end, I'd switched from reading the P-I every day to reading it once a week. The other six days I picked up the Seattle Times.
