Jumper snarls rush-hour traffic

Man falls 150 feet, dies hours later

A suicide jumper clung to the west side of the Aurora Avenue Bridge for two hours, snarling rush-hour traffic on a blustery Monday morning with police and fire personnel in position to help him. But the man let go and fell some 150 feet into a planted area in a parking lot near the Adobe Systems Inc. offices in the Fremont neighborhood.He died hours later at Harborview Medical Center.

City Council approves Interbay upzone

The Seattle City Council voted 7-2 Monday, Nov. 3, to approve an upzone in the Interbay area around West Dravus Street. The legislation was a compromise, said council member Sally Clark, who announced the new zoning would be Seattle Mixed 40-85.

Alfa Tec acquires FM Equipment

Alfa Tec Inc., a 15 year old marine sales and service distributor located near Fishermen's Terminal, has purchased FM Equipment, a distributor for Alfa Laval Marine, Oil and Power in the Gulf region. In 2007 Alfa Tec expanded its operations to the East Coast and Gulf Coast regions by opening a second location in Tampa, Florida.

Making a difference

Make A Difference Day is the most encompassing national day of helping others and some 20 volunteers from the Scientology Environmental Task Force, University of Washington and the neighborhood got together Oct. 25th to celebrate and make Kinnear Park in Queen Anne a little bit safer.

Fatima soccer team scores big

The 6th grade Fatima soccer team took second place in the CYO Championship game on Sunday, at Lakeside. Fatima competed with 18 teams in the CYO league and beat St. Louise and Lakeside, only losing to Holy Rosary in the final game. Congratulations to Fatima!
