Park On: Vice presidential debate

During the entire week, news organizations, websites and blogs had stated how Governor Palin was "prepping" for the debate. The word "prepping" sounds like the McCain-Palin camp were panicking over Palin's performance during the debate. As Barbara Walters said on her television show, "The View," "It bothers me that one has to be prepped so much for a debate and crammed full of material. I'm not sure -- and I'm talking about everybody -- that prepping so that you just pass a debate and don't make a huge mistake is necessarily what makes a great president."

Churchill, in today's America, would be too short, too unleaderlike, but John Wayne could have been president, if he'd lived, but probably not poor homely old Abe Lincoln.

Park On: Economy

With the general election creeping up, the nation's primary concern has been our tanking economy. According to NPR, the DOW opened below 8,600 points this morning. The DOW hasn't fallen below 8,600 since 2003. So what does that mean for people like you and me? With another Great Depression on the horizon, voting in the general election is the next crucial step.
