While a certain amount of mischief and inconsideration are to be expected from the young ones among us, a minority of them focuses their impulsive urges into bleak streaks of crime.

Rainier Little League All Stars make progress at State District 7 All-Star Tournament

Rainier District Little League opened play in the Washington State District 7 All-Star Tournament at PacWest Fields in Burien this past weekend, with its team of nine and 10-year-olds leading the way with strong play against similarly-aged all-star teams from Renton and Southwest Seattle.

Money available to help pay Puget Sound Energy bills

Blood donors urged to give twice this summer

Puget Sound Blood Center is kicking off a new initiative to maintain an adequate blood supply throughout the summer, when donations traditionally drop off and trauma cases increase by 20 percent.

City to replace transmission lines

Seattle City Light will soon begin a seven-week project to replace two transmission lines along 2.8 miles of Eighth Avenue Northeast. Some traffic and parking disruption will result, but electrical power should not be interrupted.Starting Monday, June 30, City Light will replace two high-voltage (115kV) electrical feeder lines between Northeast 77th and 130th streets. The work is scheduled on weekdays through Aug. 15, with a number of trucks and pieces of equipment needed on site.Questions, concerns and complaints about the project can be directed to Mike Eagan, at 615-1691 or mike.eagan@seattle.gov.
