You gave an introductory speech about the economic impact of the arts in Puget Sound. I hadn't realized how every time I go to a show or listen to yours, I'm helping to grow my local economy. Is this a trend? You are part of something big, Jordan. The arts in Puget Sound generate - with the exception of Manhattan - more economic growth than any American metropolitan area! The idea of licensing particular nightclubs-in short, those places seeming to attract a more violent clientele, some given to gun play-was pitched by Mayor Greg Nickels in response to citizen outrage sparked by several shootings in the vicinity of late-night hot spots like the former Mr Lucky in Queen Anne and Tommy's Lounge & Grill in the University District.

Weinstock will move on but stay in the game

In some ways it may be hard to imagine someone other than Chuck Weinstock at the helm of Capitol Hill Housing. After 19 years as CHHIP's executive director, it is only natural to consider him the face of the organization. But he doesn't think there will be any problem with the transition to a new director.
