The Woodland Park Zoo's draft annual plan is currently available to the public. The annual plan is submitted to the superintendent of Seattle Parks and Recreation as specified by the Zoo Operations and Management Agreement between the city of Seattle and the Woodland Park Zoo Society.

Accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), award-winning Woodland Park Zoo is famed for pioneering naturalistic exhibits and setting international standards for zoos all over the world. Conservation, education and excellent animal care are at the core of the zoo's mission.

The zoo is helping to save animals and their habitats in Washington state and around the world including tree kangaroos, snow leopards, red-crowned cranes, African wild dogs, western pond turtles and Oregon silverspot butterflies.

The annual plan briefly describes programmatic changes, capital improvements or planned fee changes for the upcoming year. The report is due to the superintendent of parks in the fourth quarter of each year.
