“In the Sliver of a Second,” a collection of poetry and prose by students of area public schools was recently released.
It is the product of the Writers in the Schools (WITS) program sponsored the Seattle Arts and Lectures. In the 2011-2012 school year, 24 writers-in-residence taught poetry, fiction, comics, memoir and playwriting to 5,520 students of all ages in the greater Puget Sound region.
The collection includes 201 wonderful pieces, many by students in Magnolia schools and schools attended by Magnolia residents.
The price costs $10, with $6 benefiting the WITS program.
The book is now available at Magnolia’s Bookstore (3206 W. McGraw St.).
