Westlake Avenue N re-opens, Ninth Avenue N closes Sept. 3

On Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 9 a.m., Westlake Avenue N between Mercer and Aloha will be completely re-opened to traffic going both directions. But as Westlake Ave re-opens, roadway restoration will beging at Ninth Avenue N and Broad Street.  

Between Aloha and Valley streets there will be one southbound lane and two northbound lanes open on Westlake Avenue N. Between Valley and Mercer there will be three southbound and two northbound lanes open.  

On Sept. 3, there will be uniformed police officers at the intersection of Westlake Ave N and Mercer Street. The officers will monitor and direct traffic during the morning and evening commutes. 

Starting at 9 a.m. on Sept. 3, Ninth Avenue N will close from Aloha to Mercer streets. The restoration work will completely shut down the street. If you normally travel on Ninth Avenue N south of Mercer street, take Westlake Avenue North to Republican Street. For those heading north, take Mercer Street. And if you want to go to a Ninth Avenue business, access will be available via Westlake Avenue N at Aloha Street. The Ninth Avenue restoration should last through late September.
