Troop 70 busy during March

Queen Anne Boy Scout Troop 70 spent every weekend in March completing a community service to give back to the community and to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Scouting in America.

Troop 70 sponsored a community blood drive at the Queen Anne United Methodist Church during which the Puget Sound Blood Center registered 33 donors and collected enough blood to assist a potential of 84 different patients in western Washington.

The troop also collected more than 560 pounds of food and personal hygiene products for the Ballard Food Bank.

Then under the direction of Eagle Scout candidate, Corey Metzner, the troop built and installed raised planter boxes at Green Lake Elementary in support of their garden renovation project where the students will learn about environment, gardening and conservation.
