Excellently written article on Lumen ("Lumen condo owners worried about future," Dec. 12). I couldn't agree more.
Whilst the convenience of QFC is ne plus ultra, the building itself is a hideosity. One thing I have noticed more times than I can count is the trash and general state of filthiness of the main entrance to QFC, the one on the southwest side. The trash is always overflowing, there's graffiti already on a utility door (I waited to see if it was removed within 24 hours and it wasn't.
If I was a tenant or owner at Lumen, I would have gone BALLISTIC), the attractive metal chairs are already bent out of shape by vandals. Nobody seems to take responsibility for keeping this area tidy. And this is purported to be a prime location for QFC! Prime garbage dump, more like!
I am, however, really chuffed that Office Max is opening up! Thrills! I can finally find all those cool pens that Queen Anne Office Supply overcharges for!
