The producers of the Lesbian & Gay Film Festival present a variety of queer film events with the Three Dollar Bill Cinema summer series.
This summer, moviegoers can look forward to a number of events including a Buffy the Vampire Slayer sing-a-long on Saturday, June 29, and Sunday, June 30, the Egyptian Theatre, the Seattle Black Pride Film Festival at the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center on July 21 and 22, the second annual Karaoke Challenge on July 31 at the Northwest Film Forum, "Features from the Black Lagoon" on Aug. 11, 18 and 26 at Cal Anderson Park and Translations: Seattle Transgender Film Festival on Aug. 31 through Sept. 3.
The Karaoke Challenge will feature Seattle filmmakers creating goofy, tongue-in-cheek karaoke videos for their favorite songs and a live performance. Artist submissions are due by Saturday, June 30, via e-mail to Adam Sekuler at adams@nwfilmforum.org. "Features from the Black Lagoon" will feature the screening of three free films including "Creature from the Black Lagoon" in 3-D on Aug. 11, "The Gang's All Here" with a special live performance from Carmen Miranda on Aug. 12 and Faye Dunaway's "Mommie Dearest" on Aug. 26.
All films begin at 8:30 p.m. and are open to all ages.
