Sue Gibbs

Sue Gibbs passed away peacefully at home in Magnolia surrounded by her loving family on Thursday evening, Nov. 8. She was 79.

Bornorn to John and Adelaide Quinn on Jan. 3, 1928, in Tacoma, she went on to graduate from Saint Leo's High School in that city. Attendance at Seattle University followed, and marriage to collegiate basketball star Rod Gibbs.  

Mrs. Gibbs raised a family, owned and ran Toys Unlimited in Lake Forest Park and enjoyed the local collegiate and professional sports scene. She also worked at the Magnolia Hardware Store.  

She was usually willing to share a firmly held opinion on any topic, particularly politics or sports.

Her beloved husband, Rod, passed away in August 1990. She is survived by her brother, Patrick E. Quinn; her son, John Gibbs, and daughters Susan Guidry (Ron), Mary Kay Morley (Dan) and Tricia King (Dennis), plus eight grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Nov. 15, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 3218 W. Barrett St. Remembrances in Sue Gibbs' name may be sent to Swedish Hospice, 5701 Sixth Ave. S., No. 404, Seattle, WA 98108[[In-content Ad]]
