STREET TALK: <i>'What do you think about the mysterious disappearance of the bees?'</i>

LISA MEHALCHIN
"I think that it is scary. I think that they need to figure our what's wrong. It seems strange that it is national. I don't know too much about it. It seems that has happened in the past but it wasn't on a national level. It seems really frightening."

AVA B.
"Well, actually it is not that mysterious. They've been predicting this for years. A lot of it has to do with mono-agriculture - not rotating crops and not creating diversity. Things weaken over time, and there is less and less food for the bees - the carriers of our future -to go after."

ARNIE
"It is a pretty serious thing. It's alarming. Without honeybees we won't have a lot of the fruits and vegetables we rely on. They are very important pollinators. It's a serious problem."

JAN MARTIN
"I think that it is a conspiracy on a grand scale. We're talking about the Feds, the CIA and quite possibly the Department of Transportation. They are all in on it. No, in all seriousness, I think that their mysterious disappearance may havesomething to do with the fact that we are killing the planet."
