Street Scramble to explore Queen Anne

Street Scramble, an urban adventure running series managed by Seattle event company MerGeo, will host an event in Queen Anne on March 30 at 9:30 a.m., starting from Queen Anne Baptist Church (2011 First Ave. N.)

At Street Scramble, teams or individuals are given a map with checkpoints circled on it and a time limit to plan their route and then visit as many of these checkpoints as they can. Checkpoints have assorted point values, and participants may find as many as they desire in whichever order they choose. To prove that they have visited a checkpoint, participants answer a multiple-choice question on their provided answer sheets.

Once the route-planning clock stops, the race clock begins, and participants set off into the neighborhood until they return to the start location before the time limit or risk losing points for every minute they are late.

Awards are given in 11 categories, including three for family teams and a corporate-team category.

Participants may register until March 28 or may sign up on-site on the day of the event.
