Still no leads in Mike Webb murder

It's been more than a week since the decomposing body of former KIRO-radio talk show host Mike Webb was found under a tarp in a concealed crawlspace in the basement of the Queen Anne rental home off Third Avenue West where he lived.

Webb dropped out of sight on April 13, and the medical examiner determined he had been stabbed to death, according to police. Webb's family told police he had been hanging out with a "shady character" in the months before his murder.

But police haven't set their sights on the shady character yet or anybody else, said police spokesman Mark Jamieson last Friday, July 6.

"Nobody has been identified as a suspect, and nobody has been identified as a person of interest," he said. "It's still early in the investigation. Detectives are looking at everything."

That status hadn't changed, Jamieson said when he was contacted on Monday this week.

A memorial service is planned for Webb from 7:30 to 9 p.m. July 18 at Saint Mark's Episcopal Cathedral at 1245 Tenth Ave. W. on Capitol Hill. His family has requested memorials in his name be sent to the Lambert House.
