St. Anne's volleyballers spike CK/St. Benedict

The Celtics of St. Anne's School atop Queen Anne Hill took it to CK/St. Benedict over the weekend, sweeping their opponent 25-13 and 25-19 and securing their place in CYO post-season play beginning today.

The match, held at Egan Hall at St. John School in Greenwood, was the final match of the Celtics regular season.

The Celtics finished among the top eight teams in the 16-team AAA division of the Catholic Youth Organization. All the girls are St. Anne seventh-grade students and are Queen Anne or Magnolia residents.

"In 2008, we advanced to the second round of playoffs before being defeated," said coach Susan Clark. "This has been a winning volleyball season at St. Anne's School. Our sixth-grade girls team and our eighth-grade girls team have also advanced to the playoffs."
