Photographers are being invited to enter the 2007 Discovery Park Advisory Council-sponsored Calendar Photo Contest.
All photographs for the contest must be taken at Discovery Park or Kiwanis Ravine, and the entry deadline is May 27.
Winning photographs will be published in a 2008 calendar. All contest entries will be exhibited at a calendar contest celebration in August. The calendar will include a biographical statement by each photographer selected.
Contest entries may also be published on the Discovery Park Web site and in Seattle Parks and Recreation publications.
Artists may submit up to three photos with a $15 non-refundable entry fee and completed entry form. Checks may be made out to the Discovery Park Advisory Council. Review will be by slide or digital image. Digital images should be approximately 8.5 inches by 11 iches at 300 dpi in TIF or JPG format.
Entries may be mailed or dropped off at the Discovery Park Environmental Learning Center, Attn: Photo Contest, 3801 W. Government Way, Seattle, WA, 98199.

The contest will be judged by a panel of three professional photographers and teachers in the area, including Bellevue Community College photography instructor Thomas Hefferan. More than 80 photographers submitted entries for last year's contest. Winning photographs included images of Discovery Park wildlife, scenery and buildings.
Proceeds from the 2008 calendar will be used for park programming.
