SDOT to pave Boren Avenue and Madison Street

The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) has advertised for bids to pave two major streets on First Hill this year. The two streets are Boren Avenue between Broadway and Denny Way, and Madison Street between Terry Avenue and 18th Avenue East. Both streets link surrounding communities with downtown Seattle. If all goes well, paving could begin in late April and be completed by October.

The result will be improved roadway surfaces that are smoother, safer and quieter. This work is a part of an ambitious program funded by the Bridging the Gap transportation initiative. One of the goals of the Bridging the Gap legislation is to pave more than 30 lane miles of Seattle's arterial streets this year.
