Levin, 39, previously served as associate editor for Pacific Publishing Company, Inc., parent company of the News. Levin's tenure with PPC, which started in 2003, has included roles as editor of the Magnolia News and Madison Park Times.
Levin follows Richard T. Jameson as News editor. Jameson, a noted film critic and regular contributor to MSNBC, assumed the editorship in 2003. Jameson plans to do more freelance writing and expects to contribute occasional film reviews to the News.
Levin, during his time with PPC, has garnered numerous awards for his writing, including first place honors from the Society of Professional Jounalists for both education and social issues reporting.
A Gig Harbor native, Levin earned his bachelor's degree in anthropology from the University of Washington and has worked as a reporter, columnist and feature writer for the Whidbey News Times and is a published short fiction writer.[[In-content Ad]]
