Residents will vote next month for Umpqua's "Build Your Block Challenge"

Residents can begin voting for their favorite block challenge project on March 12 as part of Umpqua Bank’s “Build Your Block Challenge.”

Umpqua Bank will donate $10,000 and the volunteer power to make the winning projects come to life in Queen Anne and Magnolia. This is Umpqua’s sixth “Build Your Block” initiative. Past winning projects include the addition of community gardens, an eco-friendly kids play area, and outdoor building enhancements through the addition of a mural painted by local elementary students.

Neighborhood residents can submit their nominations by visiting Umpqua’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/UmpquaBank, and clicking on the “Build Your Block” link. Nominations will be accepted through Feb. 17. Community voting will begin on March 12 and continue through Mar. 30 when the field will be narrowed to three enhancement ideas. The winning project will be announced on April 2.
