Residential Parking Zone to be explicated

Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) is holding a public meeting Thursday, Nov. 29, at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the proposed installation of a new Residential Parking Zone (RPZ) in Upper Queen Anne. The meeting will take place at the Queen Anne Branch of the Seattle Public Library, 400 W. Garfield St. Arearesidents and business owners are encouraged to attend.

RPZs are used to ease parking congestion in residential neighborhoods by discouraging long-term parking by nonresidents. This one is proposed for the blocks between W. Lee and W. Blaine streets and from Third Ave. W. to Queen Anne Ave.

The purpose of this meeting is to provide residents and businesses with the results of SDOT's recent parking study and to provide further information regarding the RPZ process.

Also, during the meeting, a neighborhood committee will be organized to help design the zone so it will best meet the parking needs of the community.
