Jim McGowan's photograph 'Bus Stop' was selected as the winning entry from the 7th Congressional District in this year's U.S. Congressional High School Art Competition.

McGowan, a sophomore at Roosevelt High School, 1410 N.E. 66th St., shot the photograph in the University District. The photo has been on display at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center. It will then be exhibited in Washington, D.C., where it will be unveiled in the tunnel connecting the U.S. Capitol and the Longworth House Office Building on June 28 with McGowan and his art teacher in attendance.

For his winning photograph, McGowan received three round-trip tickets to Washington, D.C., for the ribbon-cutting event, as well as memberships to the Seattle Art Museum, the Seattle Asian Art Museum and Olympic Sculpture Park.
