Putt Cancer in the Hole for Brain Tumor Association

Magnolia native Francie Warnekros is hosting the third-annual Putt Cancer in the Hole tournament at Interbay Golf Center (2501 15th Ave. W.) on Sept. 14, starting at noon. The event will feature a putt-putt golf tournament and a raffle. Guests of all ages are encouraged to attend.

All donations and proceeds raised from the event will go to the American Brain Tumor Association (www.abta.org), a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support to both brain-cancer researchers and brain-tumor patients and caregivers. On-line donations are also being accepted at www.active.com/donate/puttcancer.

Warnekros, whose mother died of a brain tumor in 1991, created the event as a project while participating in the Self Expression and Leadership Program through Landmark Worldwide in 2011.

Tournament registration is open to both individuals and teams of up to six people, age 3 and older. On-line registration, which costs $25, closes Sept. 13 at midnight; for information, visit the event’s Facebook page: facebook.com/events/534569136585199/.

Registration includes the round of golf, a sleeve of golf balls, food and drinks.
