The Seattle Police Department is seeking the public's help in finding information about a serious traffic collision involving a motorcyclist that occurred in North Seattle. Around 8:40 p.m. on Aug. 23, a black-and-green chopper-style motorcycle driven by a 58-year-old male was traveling northbound on Lake City Way Northeast. A passing motorist came upon the motorcycle and its driver lying in the roadway in the 10700 block of Lake City Way and called 911. Officers arrived on scene within a couple of minutes but were unable to locate anyone who actually witnessed the motorcyclist crash. No one could say whether he was involved in a collision with another vehicle or if he crashed on his own. The motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash. He is still at Harborview Medical Center on a ventilator and is not able to communicate.Anyone with information about the circumstances surrounding this collision are encouraged to call Seattle Police at the nonemergency number: 625-5011.
