Police seek assistance in homicide case

The Seattle Police Department is seeking assistance in identifying a person of interest in a homicide that occurred on Dec. 31, 2007 at approximately 7:15 p.m.

Shannon Harps, the 31-year-old victim, was walking home to her residence on Capitol Hill when she was approached by a suspect and stabbed several times. The victim was transported to an area hospital where she succumbed to her wounds.

The person of interest has been described as a white male in his 40s. He was last seen wearing baggy pants (unknown color), a blue jacket and a dark colored ski hat. He may have also been wearing a yellow hooded sweatshirt underneath the coat. He has a 3-4 inch beard and has been described as scruffy.
