Wild Night
One Queen Anne man found himself waking up from a wild night out at the clubs with the scars to prove it. He awoke in his car on the morning of Sunday, July 8th and drove himself straight to work.

When he got there he discovered he had a large cut on his upper lip. He also had pain in his head and neck. He went to the hospital and called the police, who arrived around 4:30 p.m. to take his statement.
The man said he’d been at a club on Queen Anne Avenue North the previous evening. While he was leaving the club around 1:30 a.m. he stopped to speak with someone on the sidewalk.

Suddenly, a complete stranger came up from behind and punched the victim in the face with a closed fist. The victim fell to the ground and his head struck the pavement. The victim told police that when he woke up he wanted to find whoever assaulted him, but his friends were holding him down.

He eventually was able to walk to his car, where he fell asleep.
Police report the victim had swelling in his right cheek area, and upper lip, an injury he needed three stitches to repair.

Police were unable to uncover any evidence or find a suspect.

Exciting walk to work

After being robbed on the street while walking to work, a man ran to a Queen Anne Safeway and called 911.

He said that on Tuesday, July 10th at about 3:55 a.m. he was walking to his workplace, which is located on Queen Anne Avenue North. He was walking westbound on Smith Street on the north sidewalk toward Queen Anne Avenue when he saw a vehicle stopped facing eastbound at Smith and Queen Anne Avenue.

The suspect vehicle made a left turn onto Queen Anne Avenue and stopped on the northeast corner.

The driver and passenger exited the car and walked up to the victim who was still about 30 or 40 feet from Queen Anne Avenue on the north sidewalk of Smith.

The passenger asked the victim if he had a cigarette and when he said no the suspect asked where the victim’s wallet was as he pulled a black handgun out from underneath the left side of his jacket and pointed it at the victim’s chest.

The victim told police that at this point he was scared and froze and the passenger said, “Pull it out.”

The victim took his wallet out and held it open and the suspects told him to take the money out the driver reached his hand out and took the money from the victim’s hand. They then told him to take out his cards which the victim did. The driver looked at the cards and took the victim’s debit card.

Satisfied, the suspects turned around and went back to their car. They drove away northbound on Queen Anne Avenue. The victim walked to the Safeway store and called 911 right away.

Seattle Police Department patrol cars responded but the suspects and vehicle were not located. The victim told police he thinks he can identify the two suspects and their vehicle if he sees them again.

Police note that there is no evidence other than the victim’s story, and he said there were no witnesses who observed the robbery. He also said he was not injured and neither of the suspects ever touched him.

The victim was able to give a good description of the suspects, saying that the driver was wearing a scooped neck white tank top and that he could see a tattoo on his upper chest or lower neck area. He said that both suspects had short cropped hair styles with no facial hair that he can remember. He also said that neither of the suspects had accents, meaning they must be locals, and that he thinks that the passenger is right handed because he held the gun in his right hand, and he added that the driver did all the handling of the victim’s property. The victim could not add any more description about the handgun other than it was a black handgun.

Stolen phone
Responding to a 911 call reporting a robbery that had just occurred, Seattle police officers were told a story that didn’t add up. A little after midnight on Wednesday, July 4th the officers responded to the scene on Queen Anne Avenue North to find the victim being treated by Seattle firefighters. The only injury noted was a small cut by his left cheekbone, where he claimed that he had been punched.
The victim said he’d been hanging out with a friend up the block when it appeared that she and her boyfriend were about to get into a physical fight. The victim says he was in the process of calling 911 on his cell phone when the boyfriend took his phone.
The victim was unable to provide the officers with the exact time and location of where the assault took place; he also said his friend and her boyfriend live a few blocks away from this location, but he couldn’t give an exact address. Upon further investigation the officers note that there was no 911 call received around this time that had been abandoned, and no calls from the phone number he gave as his cell phone number.
He was provided with a case number and a business card.

Thirsty burglars

Seattle Police responded to the Key Arena after receiving reports that burglars had broken into the arena and, among other things, stole soda and sprayed a fire extinguisher all over the basketball court. The burglary occurred sometime between 1 a.m. and 2:20 a.m. on Saturday, July 7th. The glass of the northwest door was smashed and an ice cream freezer inside had been damaged when the suspects attempted to break into it by prying it open with a broom handle. An empty Coke bottle was left behind on the floor near the freezer, and security said they believed there may have been damage to the basketball court by the carbon dioxide from the fire extinguisher.
A witness told police they saw two males near a tour bus parked a few blocks away from the arena. One was carrying a fire extinguisher and one was carrying an orange traffic cone. Seattle Center security reported that the tour bus had also been sprayed with carbon dioxide from a fire extinguisher, and that security had found both the fire extinguisher and the traffic cone on the Center grounds.
Police were able to lift some finger prints off of the broom handle inside the arena. No other evidence was found.
