For the fifth year, the Phinney Neighborhood Association (PNA) is helping its two soup kitchens by sponsoring the Phabulous Phinney Pig Out, which will take place Thursday, Oct. 4.
This year, 15 local restaurants will donate a portion of their sales that day to the PNA's soup kitchens in Phinney Ridge and Ballard, including 74th St. Ale House, Carmelita, Gaspare Ristorante, Green Bean Coffeehouse, Kouzina, Mae's Phinney Ridge Café, Oliver's Twist, Park Pub, Phinney Market, Pig 'n' Whistle, Red Mill Burgers, Santa Fe Café, Stumbling Goat Bistro, Wingdome and Yanni's Greek Restaurant. Each restaurant will have balloons outside marking its participation in the event.
Also, Green Bean Coffeehouse, 210 N. 85th St., will have an art show that day featuring photographer Raul Campoverde's portraits of soup-kitchen clients and volunteers. The show will run through October, with the coffeehouse also donating proceeds from its tip jar for the month to the soup kitchens.[[In-content Ad]]
