Anthony’s Restaurants celebrates the photography of Jana Suchy with the release of her book, “Fishing for a Living in Alaska’s Southeast.” The restaurant (1900 W. Nickerson St.) has showcased her photographs on the walls of Chinook’s at Fishermen’s Terminal for more than 25 years, and this Thursday, Nov. 21, Suchy will sign copies of her book there, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Suchy’s book is a visual memoir of the years she lived as a commercial fisherman in the Alaska fishing fleet, beginning in the early 1980s. Her photographs depict stories and moments from those six years she lived at sea, the people she met along the way and the sights that she took in.
Suchy’s book will be available for purchase at the event. Her book is also available online at FishingForaLivingAlaska.com.
