Patrick Edward Quinn, aged 79, died in Seattle on November 6, 2013. Pat was born on August 5, 1934, in Tacoma to John (Jack) and Adelaide Ploof Quinn. He was preceded in death by his parents; his three siblings: John William Quinn; Sue Gibbs; Mary Quinn Carter; and his nephew, John Gibbs. He is survived by his five loving nieces: Susan Guidry (Ron); Mary Kay Morley (Dan); Tricia King (Dennis); Jennifer Carter Hermitage (Jason); Elizabeth Carter; his brother-in-law, Bruce Carter, and many grandnieces and nephews.
Pat grew up in Tacoma where he was graduated from Bellarmine High School in 1953. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Seattle University in 1957. Upon graduation, he embarked on a life-long career at the Boeing Company. Pat was an avid golfer, having achieved two holes-in-one of which he was very proud. Until the onset of his recent illness, he played in the Boeing Retirees’ Golf League, where he was known as “the Mighty Quinn.” Being a sports aficionado, Pat followed local and national teams on a daily basis and won many sports trivia contests. Pat was a devoted Catholic and a regular attendee at Our Lady of Fatima Church where he loved to sing. Uncle Pat was dearly loved by all his family and will be greatly missed by friends and family.
Recitation of the Rosary will be Friday, November 22nd, at 7 PM at Hoffner, Fisher & Harvey Chapel, 508 N. 36th Street, Seattle, 98103. A Requiem Mass for Pat will be celebrated Saturday, November 23rd, at 10 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 3218 W Barret St, Seattle, 98199. Contributions in memory of Pat may be sent to the Quinn-Carter Scholarship Endowment Fund, of which Pat was a co-founder, at Holy Names Academy, 728 21st Ave. E., Seattle, WA 98112.
