Queen Anne's
Doug Lorentzen
James Douglas Lorentzen was soft spoken and polite, a friend and a public affairs adviser to many leaders in Seattle and especially in Queen Anne. He put many hours in volunteering for the Friends of the Seattle Public Library and was a member of the Citywide Review Team. He was the founder of the Friends of Queen Anne nonprofit and was responsible with a few others for the revival of the Magnolia/Queen Anne District Council.
Mr. Brick,
Les Henson
Magnolia's Mr. Brick, Les Henson was a longtime resident of the community. He was born in Margate, England and after moving to Canada and later Seattle, he began a bricklaying apprenticeship with his father. Mr. Henson and his father worked side by side in the first of many masonry companies under the family name. His long career in the masonry trade helped build young Seattle into the metropolitan city that it is today.
