Northwest Harvest, Washington's only statewide hunger-relief agency, needs donations of food and funds this holiday season. Northwest Harvest works with more than 300 food programs statewide to distribute more than 18 million pounds of food, free of charge, each year.
More than half of those fed by Northwest Harvest are children and the elderly. Your donation will help others less fortunate this holiday season. Northwest Harvest can feed a family of three one meal for 53 cents. To donate online, visit www.northwestharvest.org
You may also wish to donate food. Most-needed items are those with high nutritional value such as canned meats, peanut butter, baby food, infant formula, cereal, canned or powdered milk, pasta, brown rice, chili, soup, stews, pork and beans, and canned fruit and vegetables.
And don't forget items for seniors and those on restricted diets!
Northwest Harvest welcomes your donations at its Cherry Street Food Bank, 711 Cherry St.
