Breaking with convention, New York Pizza & Bar (500 Mercer St.) has installed big-screen TVs in its general seating area to accommodate families and others who can’t sit in its bar area.
According to a press release, some diners have left the eatery because “they were not able or not wanting to sit in the bar when they wanted to watch an important game or event while dining and knowing they had few other options.”
Because not all diners will want to watch TV while eating there, the restaurant management has set tables outside the TV-viewing area.
The restaurant management is taking comments on this move.
