The Magnolia Chorale, under the direction of its new conductor, Jean-Marie Kent, begins rehearsals for its 20th holiday concert next Sunday, Sept. 14.
Kent is a doctoral candidate in choral conducting at the University of Washington. She is a native of Regina, Sask.,.
Chorale rehearsals are at 7 p.m., each Sunday, except for this Sunday's rehearsal, which begins at 6:30 p.m. Christmas with the Magnolia Chorale will feature a program about gifts, everything from Jesus' birth, to gold, frankincense and myrrh, to pleading for gifts under the tree, Kent said. Section placements for the chorale participants will be at 5:30 p.m., this Sunday. The rehearsals and concerts are at the Magnolia United Church of Christ, 3555 W.
