National Latin exam is breeze for Stella

In March, 30 seventh-grade students at Stella Schola Middle School took the National Latin Exam. The 45-minute test quizzed students on basic grammar, verb conjugation and contained a Latin story translation.

Last month, the results came in the mail: 25 out of the 30 students who took the test earned a letter of distinction by scoring above the national norm, which was 31 out of 40 correct.

Seventeen seventh-grade students scored above the 88th percentile, earning them the coveted purple ribbon of distinction. Students earning ribbons were: Jelena Aleksov, Dylan Frick, Whitney Dunlap, Coeurin Derbyshire, Oliver Rudnicki, Maddy Warnick, Nicholas Boss, Justin Howard, Ellie Jones, Robert Krossa, Allison Nichols, Max Gardafee, Olivia Whidby, Harrison Chinn, Heidi Collins, and two students who scored 98 percent, Brianna Narvarro and Franklin Shih.[[In-content Ad]]
