Nancy passed away on September 21, 2012 at home in Brier after a courageous battle with a debilitating illness. She was born on July 4, 1942 to Ezra Lee and Eleanor B. Merkley and raised in Magnolia. Nancy attended Lawton Elementary, Catherine Blaine Jr High, and graduated from Queen Anne High School (‘60). Her career was with the North Shore School District where she drove a school bus and worked in the North Shore lunch room for many years. She will be missed by both children and staff for her smiling face and special treats. After retirement, Nancy became known for her egg salad sandwiches and rice krispies treats which she served every Saturday at her son's auction house. Nancy is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Rudy Sutlovich; her daughter, Kathy/Dana Flagg; son, Steve Sutlovich; her grandchildren, Vada and Guy Flagg; and her sisters, Lillian Merkley and Roxanne (Merkley) Tillman. She will be remembered as an exceptional mother, sister, friend and grandmother. A Celebration of Life for Nancy will be held at 1pm on Saturday, October 6, at the Edmonds Senior Center, 220 Railroad Avenue, Edmonds, WA 98020.
