Name zoo's new tiger cub

The Woodland Park Zoo is asking the public to vote on a Malay/Indonesian name for its newest feline resident: a 3-month-old female Sumatran tiger.

Votes are taken via a ballot available at the zoo's Visitor Assistance Center or Zoomazium, or via the website at www.zoo.org. The poll ends midnight Sunday, April 8.

The zoo will announce the winning name on Monday, April 9, at 11:30 a.m., with the tiger cub making its debut shortly after, in the Adaptations Building, at the northeast corner of the zoo.

The event also includes Indonesian music from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and cupcakes from Cupcake Royale, starting at 11:30 a.m., while supplies last.

The cub is the sole offspring in the third litter between 15-year-old mother JoJo and 13-year-old Rakata. The cub's two female and two male siblings were previously moved to other zoos under the Sumatran-tiger Species Survival Plan.

The tiger festivities are free with zoo admission.[[In-content Ad]]
