Mildred Dowling passed away of natural causes on March 8, 2012 at Providence Mount St Vincent Nursing Care, Seattle. Mildred was born in Red Cliff Alberta, Canada on January 28, 1915 and moved to Bellingham, WA as a young girl where she lived until she graduated from normal school and moved to Los Angeles, CA. She married John A. Dowling, Jr. in 1935 in Hollywood, CA.
Mildred worked at The Seattle Times from 1964 until her retirement in 1980. She was known as Miss Fisher in the Real Estate Division of Classified Advertising.
She was a resident of the Magnolia district for over sixty years. A very caring and giving person, Mildred was involved in charity all her life. One of her most enjoyable experiences was membership for many years in the Jeanette Whitmore Skinner Children's Hospital Guild of Magnolia.
Mildred was the last surviving sibling of eight children. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack in 1963 and son John in 1991. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Lynn and Bob Lucurell and her five grandsons and their families: Drew and Dow Lucurell; Sean, Michael and Daniel Dowling.
In accordance with Mildred's wishes there will be no funeral services.
