Mercer Street and SR 99 will be closed for construction for the West Phase of the on-going Mercer Corridor Project.
The closures will begin at 11 p.m. on Friday, July 5 and end at 5 a.m. on Monday, July 8. Travelers are advised to plan ahead and expect delays.
The eastern side of the SR 99 bridge is going to be demolished. The bridge will be closed between Valley Street and the Battery Street Tunnel. People driving through the area will be redirected onto I-5 north of 85th Street or to E Marginal Way and Spokane Street for those in South Seattle.
Mercer Street will be closed from Fifth Avenue N and Dexter Avenue N. Traffic going east will be redirected to Harrison and Broad street.
The Mercer and Broad street I-5 on-and-off ramps will stay open during the construction.
